Valley Towing - We Don't Want An Arm & A Leg; Just Your Tows.

News....

Jan 2008 - One of our drivers, Jason Pence, has recently become a TRAA Level 1 certified Towing Operator. The TRAA is the Towing and Recovery Association of America, and is the only organization offering nationwide standards and testing of towing and recovery operators. We're very proud to have his efforts recognized. Jason also recently attended a Heavy Duty Recovery class taught by Wes Wilburn Consulting, and was certified in that area as well. Look for more of our drivers to earn these certifications soon, to better serve our customers.

Valley Towing is pleased to announce the latest addition to our fleet!

A 1990 International 4700 rollback, with a Century 19' bed and wheel-lift. For the maximum in power and fuel economy, it is equipped with a 7.3 litre V-8 diesel engine, with a 5 speed manual transmission. This means that we can continue to keep our prices at the same fair level, even with the recent fuel price increases. Plus, we are now able to provide our customers with an even higher level of service, well beyond the exceptional level given to this point.

The customer was using their R Model Mack with a spreader body loaded with about 10 tons of chicken litter to fertilize their fields. The truck wound up losing traction, and sliding backwards downhill, through a briar tree patch, and into a creek that was iced over.

Upon site arrival, we stabilized the truck by chaining. First order of business was then to winch out the crushed briar trees from under the spreader truck so we could actually get near it! This was about 150 feet of pull, to get the Mack out of the creek, up the hill, and back on solid ground. We used our Chevy C-65, with 16,000 pound Century twin-line wrecker body for this.

Before the pull, we had to cut about 10 inches of packed ice from the spreader beaters, to prevent further damage to them during the pull. Using a combination of 2-3 snatch blocks at a time, both lines, and a healthy amount of 3/8 recovery chain, the Mack came right up the hill, and back on solid ground. Total time on site, less than 1 1/2 hours.

Another professionally executed, safe, damage-free recovery, with another in the growing list of satisfied Valley Towing customers!
